Our Approach

We use our experience in the tourism industry to identify opportunities that drive businesses on the path to shared value – where companies find business opportunities in solving social problems.

We work with tourism suppliers, hospitality providers, and tourism organizations to amplify travelers’ impact by identifying and supporting social enterprises and social impact organizations that bring underserved communities into the tourism value chain.

We have worked in communities all over the world and understand the nuances of integrating tourism into communities in a sustainable, dignified way. We take that knowledge to work directly with tourism and hospitality providers to help them create the conditions for their guests to enjoy meaningful, transformative experiences that inspire.

We advise nonprofit organizations on impactful partners to align with, and how to build social enterprises into their mission through the travel industry to create sustainable sources of income. We then connect that work with funding partners through foundations, government programs, impact investors, and philanthropists.

We also serve local residents of destinations who care about the place they live in; want to steward the land; preserve their unique cultures and live with dignity and respect.

Concept Design & Strategy

To stay innovative you need to stay inspired.

We dig deep with each client to develop a tailored concept design and strategy for impact. Through a human-centered design framework, our approach fuels the creation of new ideas to improve local communities and their environment. We help guide tourism offerings that not only do no harm, but help create shared prosperity.

This holistic approach takes inspiration from local people, works within market, environment, and technological constraints, and considers every touch-point as an opportunity to create experiences that resonate more deeply with travelers — ultimately driving engagement and growth.

Community Engagement &

Strategic Partnerships

Good intentions are not enough. A seemingly good deed may in fact be the opposite. We have seen when donations of certain goods can breed dependency and harm local economies; why certain voluntourism is controversial and where it isn’t. We know where the landmines are and we can help steer your company, your organization - or you, in the right direction for legitimate impact.  As thought leaders on your team, we guide you away from the superficial, and potentially harmful, to avoid false starts.

Our expertise is in finding the right social impact partner for your specific vision of change in the world.  You don't have to start from scratch - we know the rock stars in this space.

Prosper360 also works with local communities to connect them to the tourism marketplace, deploy catalyst funding for capacity training and develop market connections. We do this work in tandem with conservation efforts wherever possible. Our partners are creating sustainable livelihoods, deploying volunteers with measurable impact, and innovating through social enterprises. They have developed deep relationships with effective small grassroots organizations committed to long-term work within their own communities.

Foundations & Philanthropy

Connecting impact organizations, social enterprises, and travel innovators to funders is what we love doing most. From our base in the  San Francisco Bay Area, the hub of innovation, to the institutions of Washington D.C., we curate innovative connections for strategic alliances.

Prosper360 works with organizations and companies to develop their own foundation or specialized path for social impact, and we help create the bridge between philanthropy and social enterprise in their own business model.   From developing a foundation board to identifying meaningful guest experiences, Prosper360 designs and delivers customized programs that deepen commitment and propel action.

"Almost all development projects focus on alleviating poverty rather than creating prosperity. This is a fundamental flaw"
